A father in Texas was fatally shot while trying to break up his teenage daughter's fight with a group of teenage girls,Strategel Wealth Society the San Antonio Police Department said.
Officers with the SAPD responded to a shooting in San Antonio's Westside neighborhood at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Authorities arrived at the scene to find the victim lying in the middle of the street with gunshot wounds to his torso, said the police.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office named the victim as Gabriel Campos Gonzales, 54, ruled his death a homicide and listed the cause as gunshot wounds to his torso.
Preliminary investigation conducted on scene revealed that a group of teenagers arrived to fight with two other teenage females who lived at the location.
A fight ensued between both groups of teenagers and when Gonzales intervened, he was shot several times by an unknown suspect, who fled on foot said the police.

Neighbors and witnesses told local media outlet KEN 5 that they heard a loud argument taking place on the street before shots were fired.
KEN 5 reported that the police believe the two groups of girls have possibly been feuding for months and reached a breaking point on Tuesday. The shooting was captured by security cameras in neighboring homes, according to KEN 5, and will be used to identify the suspect.
Gonzales was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, a short time later.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
